🧑🏫 Overview:
RoboticGen Academy seeks a passionate and dedicated Mentor to inspire and guide students aged 10-18 in the fascinating world of robotics and artificial intelligence. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to mentor bright young minds both virtually and in-person, helping them grasp weekly content, complete challenging projects, and foster self-learning.
🧧Key Responsibilities
- Mentorship: Guide students through virtual and physical sessions, helping them understand and apply concepts while completing projects. Submit mentoring reports after each session.
- Assignment Grading: Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student assignments. Prepare comprehensive mentor guides and solution scripts.
- Supportive Learning: Encourage students to explore beyond the curriculum and develop independent learning skills.
- Content Feedback: Writing mock answer scripts for projects, feedback on current content and new content proposals
- Keep on Learning: Continuous learning is part of this role. You'll get access to all the materials in our courses and guidance from our expert mentors and instructors to polish your skill set.
- Teaching : Conducting classes ****(online live classes/ physical workshops / physical challenges)
- Adaptability: Perform any other reasonable task as needed to ensure a smooth learning experience for the students.
🤝 Commitment
This position requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week. Your availability will be needed during the following operational times:
- Virtual Mentoring: Conduct 5 online mentoring sessions per week as a baseline. Available Tuesday through Friday, 6 PM-10 PM.
- Physical Mentoring: Conduct 1 physical mentoring session per week as a baseline. Available Saturday mornings from 9 AM - 12 PM at RoboticGen Academy Makerspace located in Parkland1.
- Conducting Live Sessions: Lead online and physical workshops and team challenges
- Attend Meetings: Available for pre-scheduled meetings such as mentors' weekly standup.
✅ Requirements
- Must be either a post-A/L student selected for university entrance (Science stream) or a first/second-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT (preferably in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
- Must have completed or possess the required skills and experience to qualify for Mentor L1
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Sinhala.
