🧑‍🏫 Overview:

RoboticGen Academy seeks a passionate and dedicated Mentor (Trainee) to inspire and guide students aged 8-18 in the fascinating world of robotics and artificial intelligence. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to mentor bright young minds both virtually and in-person, helping them grasp weekly content, complete challenging projects, and foster self-learning.

🧧Key Responsibilities

• Learn: Learning is a key element in this position. You'll get access to all the materials in our projects, programs and guidance from our expert mentors and instructors to polish your skill set.
• Mentoring Assistance: Assist mentors to guide students through virtual and physical sessions, helping them understand and apply the concepts taught and guiding them to complete projects.
• Supportive Learning: Encourage students to explore beyond the curriculum and develop independent learning skills.
• Content Feedback: Writing mock answer scripts for projects, feedback on current content and new content proposals
• Adaptability: Perform any other reasonable task as needed to ensure a smooth learning experience for the students.

🤝 Commitment

Total commitment is 10-20 hours per week for this position. You will be asked for your availabilities in the following operational times.

• Virtual Mentoring Assistance: Availability during Mon - Fri 7 PM - 10 PM. (Need availablity for the assigned slots only)
• Physical Mentoring Assistance: Availability on Saturdays from 9 AM - 6 PM, Weekdays 12 PM - 6 PM (optional) at RoboticGen Academy Makerspace located in Dehiwala.
• Learn: Learn and engage in our educational activities, participate in competitions, complete research projects to gain knowledge and experience
• Attend Meetings: Available for pre-informed meetings such as mentors weekly standup.

✅ Requirements

• Must be either a post-A/L student selected for university entrance (Science stream) or a first/second-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT (preferably in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Sinhala.
• Passionate in learning cutting edge technologies.
• Ability to inspire kids.
• Ability to engage and teach kids effectively.
